The end of B1!

I must confess I am a bit behind on the blogging, so there will be a couple in a row to catch you up on my life.

My first level intermediate class began with 15 people and we ended with 7. It was an interesting mix of people from all over the world. Again it was a group of people who would never hangout together normally, but at the end of the class we had come to respect and enjoy one another. Since I had gotten my new couches, I decided to have everyone over for dinner to break them in. It was a fun evening. I made pasta with pesto, Emad made a eggplant and tomato dish that was quite tasty, and Elida made a fabulous banana cake. It was a fun evening, but also quite disturbing.
One of our classmates, Nicolas, arrived late because earlier that afternoon his apartment had been broken into and he had just spent 4 hours at the police station only to find out there was nothing they could do. He was extremely shaken up and a bit distraught. It was so great to see everyone console him and offer ways to help. It is amazing to see how a class of people from all over the world in a few short months can become like a family. It also made me grateful for the support system I do have here in Italy as well as back in the US and the peace I have in knowing God is in control and watching over me.
